1934 London to Melbourne Race

NOTE: This flight plan is for FS2000 only. Unfortunately, FS98 is missing too many of the airports and navigation aids to make the flight practical on that Flight-Sim version.

1) Print the lm.pdf file, the flight plan details.

2) Unzip lm-fsn.zip, the FSNavigator flight plan files (48 of them) into your FSNavigator Directory. That Directory/folder is under Modules which is under FS2000 or Flight Simulator Folder.

3) Fly the legs in the order that they are presented, and fly them in daytime only.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE ADFs!!! Some of the NDBs on this route are at 0.5 KHz, for example, 267.5 KHz. Your ADF receiver will tune to these frequencies if you change a setting in FS2000:

a) In FS2K, go to "Options"
b) Select "Instrument"
c) Under "ADF Increments," check the 0.1 KHz button, and exit the menu with the green check mark.

YOU'RE NOT DONE YET!!!

The ADF on the R4D Panel does not display tenths of a KHz. So, to get to 267.5 KHz, for example, click the ADF frequency upward until the units are correct. Then click upward five times.

Roy Chaffin will add the extra indicator digit to the ADF radio when he gets a breathing spell from some more-pressing projects.

I recommend that you only use the 0.1 KHz increment's option on the specific routes that have NDBs ending in 0.5 KHz.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Thanks to Peter Bastin for the original information, support, and checking of the flight-plan details.
